You may be aware of a practical initiative by the YAs titled “Protect the Planet” (PtP) which was launched recently. PtP aims on caring for the environment and Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on Ceiling on Desires (COD). The focus will be on 3 topics: plastic, water and food.

In order to raise awareness about this topic, the first set of study circles and practical tips have been developed on the use of plastics They are made available by the PtP team and are attached below. This topic has very practical life application that can be practiced by all members of our Sai Centers.

It is my humble request that we encourage all the Centers in the country to conduct study circles based on the material provided between now and the end of April. These may take 2-3 weeks to complete.

Together we can make a difference to the impact of global warming. Let us pray to Bhagawan to guide us along this path.

Update – Resource for Earth Day Observance and Environmental Projects

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Om Sri Sai Ram.

In my previous communication of 17^th March 2017, I mentioned that we will celebrate 22nd April as Earth Day, to show respect and gratitude to mother earth and that additional resources would be sent to assist in this work.

I am happy to inform you that Sathya Sai Young Adults have prepared a wonderful document on spirituality and environmental protection, as part of their on-going efforts. The attached document on Earth Day can be used as a resource by Sathya Sai centres, groups, students and others for devotional, educational, service and public outreach projects. All Sathya Sai devotees are encouraged to join hands in these environmental efforts to serve mother earth who protects, supports and nurtures all life on this planet.

Zone Chairs are requested to kindly forward this email and the enclosed document to all members of Sathya Sai Centres, Groups, Trusts, Institutes and Schools in their geographical areas.

Please join me in congratulating the Sathya Sai Young Adult ‘Serve the Planet’ (STP) team, under the leadership of Ms. Shruthi Vijayakumar for preparing the attached material, which is available on the SSIO website at http://www.sathyasai.org and will be circulated on social media. Thank You.
