Serve the Planet (STP) is back again for 2017. Our theme this year is ‘Protect the Planet’ and will be focusing on caring for our environment and Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on Ceiling on Desires (COD).

 

STP was launched as a global service initiative of the Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSIO). Building on the momentum from previous years, the initiative has evolved this year. We’ll be focusing on 3 topics: plastic, water and food and how they relate to COD and our planet. In executing this, we will support National Young Adult Coordinators and National Service Coordinators to lead this initiative in your zones.

 

What you can expect from us:

For each topic (plastic, water and food), we’ll send:

  • Study circle guides to help your zones, regions and centres introspect
  • Practical tips on how to live a more eco-conscious life and how the same can be reflected by your centres
  • Guides on service projects that you can implement to help engage the community

 

We will also be conducting other programmes during the year, including a Global SSE Essay & Poster Challenge, commemorating Earth Day, and more.

 

How can you help us in encouraging participation:

  1. Share contact details of National Young Adult and National Service Coordinators in your zone, so our team can provide direct support to them in implementing STP. Please share their details here: https://goo.gl/P6xHU7
  2. Encourage all centres to play the launch video/share with members so that members are aware of STP 2017 and how they can get involved
  3. Encourage your family, centre and zone to engage with the topic on plastics and provide support with the materials that are attached
