From Struggles to Success: My Journey with SAI Tutoring
“My journey with SAI Tutoring began at the Dogwood Library in Atlanta, Georgia, where my grandfather would take me during my elementary school years to help me strengthen my math skills. Even when COVID-19 caused the program to transition to an online format, I believe the tutoring experience became even better. The virtual format allowed me to easily connect with many kind and dedicated teachers and tutors who supported me through advanced middle and high school courses.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped me during the times when I struggled, especially in math, and encouraged me to reach heights I never imagined were possible.
Mrs. K and her team played an important role by thoughtfully matching me with tutors who had experience in the subjects I was studying, were majoring in those areas, or had taught the material before. They also arranged special tutoring sessions when I needed additional support with projects, papers, and homework assignments.
Because of the support and guidance I received through SAI Tutoring, I was able to achieve academic success and graduate as one of only 17 students in my class with a 4.5 or higher GPA.
As I begin the next chapter of my life in college, I will always look back on SAI Tutoring as an important part of my academic journey and success.”

Sai tutoring transports me back to my school days several decades ago, as I re-live the youthful excitement of academic problem solving without the pressures of taking exams or submitting projects and homework. I try to instill the importance of learning concepts versus simply memorizing methodologies to ace a math test. I derive great joy and purpose in life when I see our students succeed in school and continue their journey through college and land meaningful careers.
